Mood Board

We have create our mood board to help us to create the superhero and villain for our opening scene. we could take ideas from this and then use them in the making of our costumes and the way or characters act. We superhero and villains that are in our mood board are from the two biggest comic book companies DC comics and Marvel. The are the most poplaur superheros and villains that our audince would like to see us do something simalir too.

Evalution (progess so far)

So far what we have done is compelted all of our filming for our opeing. We finshing filming our fright scene which takes the longest to shot and we did that last shot which is were James (Superhero) is walking along and we see Ryan (Villain) in the background but when we look again we see that he has disappered. We have done this to leave our audience wondering where he has gone and how he mange to disapper as quck as he did and where he has gone too. We though our audeince would be interested in seeing this and in most comic book film you usual see the villian before they are shown in their costume. Our mise en scene for this was the dark spooky lair that the villain has and that is where the fright scene is place. The probs in the background (chairs and tables) where there to show that the villain was working on plans of revenage against James and all the different idea he had to get back at the superhero. We didn't use any make up in our film because we though it would look more like a everyday person trying to be a superhero and not like a normal superhero that you see in other comic book films.

Plan for Tuesday

  • Media 5 and 6 and stay behind after school if neccessary
  • Camera
  • Costumes
  • Location: we have two different location incase we cant get our first choice : 1 Dance studio, 2 classroom
  • Sort out lighting: (Low key lighting for the villain lair)
  • Camera test
  • Consult script and timeline
  • Shoot fight scene and last scene of James walking to school

  • Costume,lighting,

For our opening scene we have decide to make it a fright scene between a supergero and a villain. This will make our audince happy because this is what they would expect to see in a comic book film. This is the first idea that we have had for our superhero idea for his costume and that his outfit should be bright colours so that its stand out that he is the good guy. Also in comic book films the superhero usually wears bright colours and have it is also a bit unusual logos and colour in his outfit.
We have decided to shot our fright scene in a within the villain's lair would be the dance studio or a calssroom (as our second choice) because we can have control over lighting and its needs to be a big open space which is dark and evil. We have decided to do it in the dance room because we have a low key lighing room which is then easy to move around in, it is also what film companies used when they are filming a fright scene to have this sort of lighting.

    Script

First shot of a wall. Super J crashes into the wall. Victor appears and pins Super J against the wall and then throws him to the ground. As Vicor approches, Super J takles him to the floor and then punches him. As Super J is recovering, Victor disorientates him with a shot to the back of the leg. Super J tries to attack but Vicor blocks his attack and punches him to the floor.
Victor goes to punch Super J and finish him off when the picture goes to black and a Voice over comes in.
Super J (in Voice Over): Well... I never thought it would come to this. I always thought that the hero was unable to be defeated. The all powerful force to protect the world. I used to be normal. Just like you.
    (Photos and opening titles)
Final photo dissolves into live action image. Super J (now James) walks along a corridor and we see Victor in the background staring at him.

We have decdied to not have a lot of talking in our opening scene because we though our audince would like to see more action and more of the fright scene betwwen the villian and the superhero. With this in mind, we dedceid that the best thing to do for our film would be to have more action

    Target Audience

The main audience that comic books aim for is 15- 35 years old people. They try to appeal to this audience because they are most likely to see this because its suites them and they ae not interested in this type of gerne rather then other types. Also comic books films are seen more by males then females because it is set more towards males because of the stuff they put in in their films. Its use stereotypes that all men like to watch because they have everything that men liek to see in films like explodeions, action, fright scenes all the things helps makes comic books films so successful with the males because this is what they want to see in there film.
Last summer  comic books films top the box office with The Avengers and The Dark Knight rises topping. The Avengers mange to get 1.5 billion gross profit. The Dark Knight also mange to be a hit when it come out in the cinema  manging to get 1 billion worldwide through labour day and edgging past 2008's The Dark Knight.

    Photos form our opening

We have done some photo that are form our opening scene. They are ones that we might use in our final desgin. We have also done logo for production companies that we have made up for our film.

Evalution of our progess so far

In our first evalution im going to talk about how we have gotten on so far, how much filming we have done and how we are doing on our blogging work. We have done the screenshots. The shots are there to tell the story of the superhero in short seconds screenshots. In the shot we have the superhero doing everyday normal life things such as going to school, be with friends in school and falling out with people, this was to show what happen to the superhero charcater that makes him want to be a superhero and want to do good after he has lost someone.
We have also planned out what we are going to do in our fright scene. This is so we don't injury ourselfs or break anything whlist we are filming and so that we know what we are doing and what different camera angles we want to have. However we need to make our fright scene look more tighter and more realstic in the different movement we do and to not make it look bad when we do it. So far we have done one quarter of our filming.

    Sound desgin

People use sound desgin in films and tv shows to add move tension into the film and it alsohelp makes the scene more excing to the audince.

The sound on this advert house at the end of the street use sound to make this scene more intense as she is walking along the hallway. This could be a sign that something could be happen soon or taht she will find something.

In iron man 2 they use sound effects in the noises of the racing cars goign past as they drive do to iron man . They also use sound when when Ivan Vanko use hios electroinc wips to slice the door in two before tony strak can get in. Another sound effect is the noise that is used when tony put on his iron man suite all the sounds effct or the nuts and bults being put togther to form this sutie.

    video diary number 1

We decided to make video diary so that our audince can see our progession that we are doing and to tell them what we are doing on different days and let them have a bit more detail about what we are doing in the filming progess. For the first video diary we have decide to do some practicing for our fright scene so we could see what we are going to do with our movements in our fright scene and we could also practice where we could put the camera to try and get the best shot for the different shots we are doing. We wanted to make an excitng but not over the top introduction so that our audince will be interested in watching our film and will then be interested in finding out what happens in the rest of the film. We also want our audince to be adtracted to the opening scene because we wanted them to be interested in our film and we want them to carry on watching our film to see what happerns.
